I sought the services of Richard Murphy after receiving a denial for my 7 year old daughter, Eliza for Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) services.  She had been recently diagnosed with Cognitive Disability and, I felt, met the criteria for services through the state’s DDD program.

 

I was surprised and disappointed that she continued to be denied after our first appeal.  I became very anxious about the upcoming hearing and contacted several lawyers to help me with this process.  Each lawyer I contacted proceeded to tell me that they were unfamiliar with our issue and were not sure if/how they could assist us. 

 

I found Richard’s website through a search and contacted him.  He was very reassuring and quite knowledgeable regarding our situation.  Throughout the time leading up to our hearing he worked very hard on our case and kept me abreast of each detail.  The day before our case, through his tireless research, he found a case similar to ours where the denial was overturned and the child received services through DDD.  He presented his findings to the lawyer for DDD and Eliza was approved for DDD services retroactively and we did not have to attend the hearing.  I would highly recommend Richard if you have a child with special needs and need to make sure they are receiving the services they deserve.
